Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c Release 5

Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c Release 5

Installation on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 8.8

PURPOSE: All documents are provided on this Blog just for educational purposes only.  Please make sure that you run it in your test environment before to move on to production environment.

Those are basic steps for the OS level. You may need or not. It depends on your environment.

You do not need to setup environment for Oracle_home and ASM and OEM. When the Installation completed then you can set it up.

You can download the Installation files from the Link Download

Step 1: Create a Database First

In my case, I have the following databases created:

  1. EMCMDB

  2. EMREP

Connect to the database to EMCMDB and execute the following commands:

Step 2: Configure the Database (EMCMDB)

Connect to the EMCMDB database and execute the following commands:

sql
SQL> alter system set "_allow_insert_with_update_check"=true scope=both;

SQL> alter pluggable database EMREP save state;

Pluggable database altered.

SQL> show parameter session_cached_cursors;

NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
session_cached_cursors               integer     50

SQL> alter system set session_cached_cursors=500 scope=spfile;

System altered.
SQL> show parameter shared_pool_size;

NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
shared_pool_size                     big integer 0

SQL> alter system set shared_pool_size=600M scope=spfile;

System altered.

Step 3: Configure the OS Firewall

The following commands are required to be executed at the OS level to open the necessary ports:

bash
firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port={80,443,1521,3872,4889,4903,7102,7202,7301,7403,7788,7803,9788,9851}/tcp
firewall-cmd --reload

Step 4: Run the Root Script

After the installation of the middleware software, run the allroot.sh script as the root user:

bash
/oracle19/mdbase/middleware/allroot.sh

You should see output similar to this:

text
Starting to execute allroot.sh .........
...
...
Finished product-specific root actions.

Step 5: Agent Installation

Follow the standard steps for Agent Installation: click Next, then Save.

next
save

Step 6: Create Aliases for Easy Management

You can create aliases to stop and start OEM and the Agent easily.

OEM Aliases:

bash
alias oemstart='/oracle19/mdbase/middleware/bin/emctl start oms'
alias oemstatus='/oracle19/mdbase/middleware/bin/emctl status oms'
alias oemstop='/oracle19/mdbase/middleware/bin/emctl stop oms'
alias oemstopall='/oracle19/mdbase/middleware/bin/emctl stop oms -all'

Agent Aliases:

bash
alias agentlisttarget='/oracle19/agentbase/agent/agent_inst/bin/emctl config agent listtargets'
alias agentstart='/oracle19/agentbase/agent/agent_inst/bin/emctl start agent'
alias agentstatus='/oracle19/agentbase/agent/agent_inst/bin/emctl status agent'
alias agentstop='/oracle19/agentbase/agent/agent_inst/bin/emctl stop agent'

Complete Alias List:
